John Bielby is a Retired Captain of Support Services with the Rome Police Department where he served 31 years as a police officer.  He graduated from MVCC with an AAS in Criminal Justice and went on to SUNY Poly where he earned a BPS  majoring in Criminal Justice.

John was involved in the investigation or supervision of numerous incidents involving child abuse. These investigations included sexual assaults, physical assaults, and neglect/maltreatment cases. Additionally, he has been a NYS DCJS Certified instructor for Security Guard Training and also Domestic Violence training. John has a wealth of training experience within the police department, at MVCC and at Cazenovia College. Captain Bielby is a former member of the Oneida County Coalition on Domestic Violence (1995-2009)
